On April 9th, 2023, Jonas proposed to Kiernan on the frozen surface of Lake Louise, after a weekend getaway in Banff to celebrate Kiernan’s birthday. For months, Jonas had been planning the perfect proposal, knowing that the majestic Rocky Mountains would be the ideal place to begin their next chapter together. Since 2018, Kiernan and Jonas had made it a tradition to spend a special weekend each year in the Rockies, carving out meaningful moments in their favorite place.

When they booked their trip for Kiernan’s birthday in April 2023, Kiernan was excited, unaware that Jonas had planned a proposal that would perfectly reflect their love story. On the morning of April 9th, the couple spent time exploring Banff before driving to Lake Louise, where they checked into the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The day's activities included a photoshoot Jonas had arranged as a "birthday gift" for Kiernan, who had no idea what was about to unfold.

After meeting the photographer and posing for a few pictures, the photographer instructed Jonas and Kiernan to turn away from each other for a panoramic shot of the stunning mountains, asking them to stand still while admiring the view. At this moment, Kiernan noticed Jonas stepping around in the snow, though she didn’t think much of it. When the photographer said they had the shot, Kiernan turned around—only to find Jonas down on one knee.

After seven incredible years together, the answer was an obvious and heartfelt yes. Now, two years later, Kiernan and Jonas are beyond thrilled to return to the place that has been so significant in their relationship, and are eagerly looking forward to starting the next chapter in their journey—this time, as a married couple.
